In my previous post, I mentioned that Adobe products would surpass Microsoft Office as the #1 application for cybercriminals to hack into. Security experts stated that applications like Adobe Acrobat Reader and Adobe Flash were most vulnerable.
On December 15th, Adobe acknowledged the security vulnerabilities in Adobe Reader and Adobe Flash. The company released a security update on Jan 2nd for multiple versions of Adobe Reader and Adobe Acrobat for Windows, Mac, and UNIX, in hopes to resolve the critical security vulnerability that is currently being exploited by cybercriminals.
This past Wednesday, Adobe released security updates for Adobe Illustrator CS4 (14.0.0) and Adobe Illustrator CS3 (13.0.3 and earlier versions) for Windows and Mac OS X.
Adobe warns that these vulnerabilities could be used to execute arbitrary code on affected computers or to cause a crash. Most security experts claim that 2010 could be the breakout year for cybercriminals. Remember that over 60% of companies are hit by cybercrime. Is your company prepared?
