Cisco has now deployed Telepresence across 40 different countries, most recently with Procter & Gamble. (Procter & Gamble is launching about 360 Telepresence 3000 systems within 18 months.)
"Cisco TelePresence is the fastest-growing new product category in Cisco history," said Charles Stucki, vice president and general manager of Cisco TelePresence Systems business unit. "We're seeing demand from every region of the world, across all vertical industries, because businesses are looking for a competitive advantage in a global business environment."
Two noteworthy comments about Cisco Telepresence: inter-company TelePresence capabilities and interoperability with virtually all standards-based video conferencing systems on the market today. This enables a company to communicate with customers, partners, vendors, and not just other employees on the company's network. With standards-based videoconferencing sessions, a company can leverage their existing video conferencing solution with Cisco Telepresence.
I will attempt to report back Cisco Telepresence growth rates and projections...
